WAGO adds two new switches that are tailored to substation automation to its growing product range. The 852-1505/000-001 Switches are designed for “Power over ETHERNET” (PoE), which provides power supply and data transfer together through just one ETHERNET cable. This streamlined wiring configuration offers significant potential savings for installation and operating costs while taking up significantly less space.
A new high-current variant joins WAGO’s line of 3-phase power measurement modules. The new 750 Series Module measures DC and AC currents via external shunts up to 20,000 A, augmenting the upper-range of WAGO’s energy measurement technology portfolio.
UCS series universal electronics housings from Phoenix Contact are now also available with ready-made cutouts for the 7 inch touch displays of Raspberry Pi boards, as well as all the standard connections for the mini computers. The polycarbonate housings provide a functional package for the B2 and B3 Raspberry Pi models.
The GOT115-319 15-inch fanless touch panel computer from Axiomtek is powered by the Intel® Celeron® processor N3350 or Intel® Pentium® processor N4200 with the Intel® GFX controller onboard.
When a machine in a chemical or pharmaceutical plant fails or is in need of repair, the resulting downtimes can last several weeks: Batches must be disposed of and the plant itself must be completely cleaned until operations can resume. Especially in such critical applications, system redundancy is essential for preventing unplanned downtimes and the associated costs.
Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. has recently announced the release of its RV-8CRL industrial robot, which offers a high-quality solution at a lower price point, while not sacrificing on performance. Due to its smaller base size, expanded effective working area, and compatibility with safety intelligence components, RV-8CRL is extremely versatile in its applications, including pick and place, inspection, and general assembly.
Since KEB is a German-based company, they have a long history connecting their PROFIBUS and PROFINET drive products with Siemens PLCs. KEB’s PROFINET offering now extends to the next generation S6 Servo Drive and F6 VFD product lines. KEB’s customers choose KEB PROFINET servo drives for a number of reasons. Customer feedback shows they value KEB’s direct support from engineers, good value (price vs. performance), and a lot of technical features built into the KEB product as standard.
Weidmuller has recently introduced a new terminal block offering to provide an alternate solution managing control voltage distribution for Machinery/Controls equipment within the Process and Power Generation Industries. The AAP 11&12 double output control voltage terminal series is designed to reduce cabinet space, when compared to traditional terminal setups by 30-40% and is ideally suited for applications where there is limited panel space.
Gain maximum flexibility in your application with the new self-configuring 16 I/O digital module by Bihl+Wiedemann (BWU4230). The 16 digital signals of the ASi-5 slave can be distributed as required – e.g. to 12 proximity sensors and 4 valves in an application with packaging technology. The IP67 module is ideally suited for high I/O densities.
Yokogawa Electric Corporation recently announced the September 18 release of CENTUM VP R6.07.10, an enhanced version of the CENTUM VP integrated production control system. CENTUM VP is a core product of the OpreX Control and Safety System family of solutions. Yokogawa has enhanced CENTUM VP R6.07.10 through the introduction of a unified alarms and conditions server (UACS) that ensures safe and secure operations, even with large-scale systems.
Emerson has recently signed a joint commercialization agreement with Integra CMS, a specialty consulting company focusing on specification and implementation of continuous pharmaceutical manufacturing systems, to provide comprehensive technologies and services for continuous processes. The two companies aim to quicken adoption of continuous manufacturing processes throughout the industry.
Emerson has recently introduced a wireless automatic recovery module (ARM) for its AVENTICS G3 electronic fieldbus platform that makes it easy for technicians to perform pneumatic valve system commissioning and diagnostics from a mobile phone, tablet or laptop computer.
In aircraft construction, exceptional component quality and precision are crucial, for obvious reasons. However, sheet-metal aircraft parts are often extremely large, making machining and handling problematic. Working closely with CNC specialist Penta-Tec and with milling specialist A&T – a company that supplies Premium Aerotec, an Airbus subsidiary, with structural components – Harmuth CNC-Frästechnik has built large-format milling machines that use PC-based control technology from Beckhoff to successfully overcome these challenges.
Designed for harsh applications, the sealed ZMW Series snap-acting switch features a long stroke for highly reliable actuation.
The AX8000 multi-axis servo system from Beckhoff now offers oversampling technology in addition to extremely high dynamics and μs cycle times. Oversampling technology via EtherCAT enables process data scans several times within a communication cycle. This significantly boosts performance for precision processing machines and other systems that require evaluation of high-resolution measured values.
