Emerson: New AVENTICS DS1 Dewpoint Sensor Monitors Humidity and Air Quality in Real Time for Enhanced Reliability of Gas Processes

Recently, Emerson launched its new AVENTICS DS1 dew point sensor, an industrial sensor able to monitor dew point, temperature, humidity levels and quality of compressed air and other non-corrosive gases in real time from one device. The DS1 can help operators detect and mitigate excess moisture in its early stages and prevent moisture-related equipment damage. By optimizing air quality in this way, operators can better control processes, extend pneumatic component life, ensure regulatory compliance, and reduce maintenance and unplanned downtime.

Type 8743 and Type 8744 serve both as a mass flow controller (MFC) with a proportional valve and a mass flow meter (MFM). Both types rely on a media-separated capillary sensor made of 316L/1.4404 stainless steel with a nominal flow rate (QNom) ranging from 0.01 lN/min to 100 lN/min (nitrogen). Capillary sensors use a non-contact measuring principle. The sensor components themselves have no direct contact with the gas. This makes Type 8743 and Type 8744 particularly chemically resistant to many aggressive gases.
