Parker Hannifin recently announced the launch of the new SensoControl SCP04 pressure sensor for hydrogen applications. With this latest development, Parker is following its strategy of engineering products for new markets and future applications. Hydrogen is more and more frequently used in all kinds of transportation equipment: from trucks to buses to trains and marine. In order to enable the production, transportation, fuelling and storage of hydrogen, new products and solutions are necessary.
Production personnel can work safely and efficiently using the new Allen-Bradley 450L Perimeter Access Control (PAC) GuardShield safety light curtains from Rockwell Automation. Subject to risk assessment, light curtains eliminate the need for hard guarding and gates, while allowing frequent, easier and safe access to hazardous areas. Designed for whole-body detection, PAC light curtains are typically positioned around an area or in front of a machine entry or exit that poses a moderate to high risk of operator injury.
PACSystems RXi HMI delivers visualization for the digital age: intuitive graphics, smartphone-like usability, collaboration from anywhere and industrial ruggedness.
In a southern Germany hospital, 225 patient beds were equipped with new flexible monitors, making the screen position easy to change. However, due to poor quality cabling, the monitors did not withstand the stresses associated with everyday use. HELUKABEL took a closer look at the problem and found a solution by supplying a much stronger cable with greater durability that is typically applied to machine control panels.
AutomationDirect has added RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Read/Write modules from Contrinex. RFID technology uses radio frequencies to read and write data to/from electronic labels called tags. As opposed to standard barcode readers, RFID technology doesn’t require a line of sight between the tag and the Read/Write module to operate, and tags store a large amount of data that can be edited.
Multiple mounting options are now available for OKW’s ART-CASE modular plastic enclosures for modern desktop, mobile, wall and ceiling electronics.
C&K has extended its detect product family to include an ultra-low current version.
Plant availability plays a crucial role in the process industry in particular, so building redundancy into automation technology designs is vital. This is why Beckhoff expanded its extensive range of solutions in this area to also include a software solution for redundant control operation: TwinCAT Controller Redundancy. While the robust design of the company’s Industrial PCs alone already ensures a high level of availability, Beckhoff is now expanding its product portfolio.
LAPP’s ÖLFLEX HEAT 260 SC heat-resistant single-core industrial cable now carries UL AWM certification/cRU AWM I A/B. Ideal for applications subject to extreme temperatures, the ÖLFLEX HEAT 260 SC cable features polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) insulation to provide exceptional resistance to acids, alkalis, solvents, oils, other chemicals and UV exposure.
Yokogawa Electric Corporation has recently announced the release of the OpreXTM IT/OT Security Operations Center service. This new addition to the OpreX Safety and Security family is a centrally managed service based on people (service organization), processes, and technology.
