Electrocomponents plc (LSE: ECM) has recently announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Synovos, a leading player in integrated supply solutions in the Americas, for a total consideration of $145 million on a debt-free, cash-free basis. The Synovos acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, including US anti-trust, and is expected to complete in Q1 calendar year 2021.
ABB recently announced its plan to expand its manufacturing facility in Hackettstown, New Jersey to meet growing demand for electrical equipment. The expansion will double the solid dielectric switchgear manufacturing footprint to 24,000 square feet, bringing the total site to 120,000 square feet when complete, and will feature state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment.

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has selected Emerson to modernize and optimize its Magnolia power plant that delivers reliable, cleaner electricity to customers. Schneider Electric recently announced an additional $40 million investment towards modernizing its U.S manufacturing plants in Iowa, Kentucky, Nebraska, and Texas. The monies will go towards innovative technologies and new production lines that will help increase Schneider Electric’s capacity of operations in the U.S. for its customers, as well as further develop its local workforce.
