As you may be aware, on October 13, 2019, Pilz was hit with a cyberattack. As soon as Pilz became aware of the attack, they shut down their servers and immediately started a plan to simultaneously protect their customer data and rebuild their network. Pilz are happy to report that none of their customer data was compromised in this attack, however data recovery is still being carried out.

As of January 1, 2020, Phoenix Contact has pooled its digital service portfolio in Phoenix Contact Smart Business GmbH, its new subsidiary in Berlin. It encompasses all activities around cloud technology, data analytics, and software services.The former Berlin startup SmartB Energy Management GmbH, in which the Phoenix Contact corporate venture capital company acquired an interest in 2017 and most recently owned 100 percent, will be merged into this new company.
