Hammond Manufacturing: Tough 1550ZF Series Watertight Diecast Aluminum Enclosures with Flanges

Introducing the flanged 1550ZF Series watertight diecast aluminum enclosure from Hammond Manufacturing, a thick-wall electronic instrument enclosure made from a rugged diecast aluminum alloy that is tough yet easy to machine. These enclosures feature a two piece tongue and groove construction for protection against access of dust and water and a strong spot-welded bottom flange which allows for easy mounting. An unpainted version is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges, while a textured black version is coated with tough polyester powder for a lasting finish, even after machining. The finish is applied outside and inside the enclosure.

- Lid is secured with either two, four, or six stainless steel Philips head machine screws, depending on enclosure size.
- Lid screws are outside the gasket protection area to eliminate the need for o-rings.
- Lid screws are self-captivating on six sizes: 1550Z107F, 1550Z108F, 1550Z116F, 1550Z117F, 1550Z137F, and 1550Z139F. Lid holes are slightly undersized and threaded with the first installation.
- Gasket is pre-formed, one-piece silicone rubber and installs easily into lid groove.
- Gasket has a temperature rating of -40°C to +150°C (-40°F to 302°F).
- No internal ribs for easy installation of connectors without interference or additional milling.
1550ZF Series Ratings:
- cUL and UL listed under file #E71073.
- Independently tested to meet IP66, IP67, and IP68 as well as NEMA Type 4, 4X, 12 and 13 ratings.
- Customers should conduct their own testing to determine suitability for any specific application.
- All sizes except 1550Z101F carry an impact rating of IK08 per IEC62262.
