EnerSys: DataSafe HX530T and DataSafe HX600T Batteries for Modern Data Center UPS Applications

March 10, 2026
EnerSys has recently announced the introduction of the DataSafe HX530T and DataSafe HX600T batteries, new additions to the DataSafe HX battery range designed for high-rate uninterruptible power supply (UPS) applications in data centers and other mission-critical environments.
The DataSafe HX battery range has been trusted for more than a decade in backup power systems that require dependable performance and consistent high-rate capability. The new DataSafe HX530T and HX600T batteries extend this portfolio by incorporating true Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology, providing customers with additional performance options and higher power density within the same familiar footprint and installation approach of equivalent DataSafe HX batteries.
“Data centers are experiencing new operating conditions as power density increases, temperatures rise, and cycling patterns become more dynamic,” said John Gagge, VP Business Development at EnerSys. “Our DataSafe HX battery range has performed reliably in these environments for many years. The new TPPL-based models give customers an additional choice for applications that may require a higher level of resilience while keeping the installation process consistent with the rest of the DataSafe HX battery family.”
The DataSafe HX530T and DataSafe HX600T batteries are engineered to support short-duration, high-rate UPS discharge requirements and maintain strong recharge performance between utility disturbances. Key features include:
• True TPPL plate construction to support consistent high-rate discharge
• Lower internal resistance, enabling improved recharge characteristics
• Stable performance across a broad temperature range
• Full compatibility with equivalent DataSafe HX battery footprints and top-terminal layouts
• >99% recyclable materials, supporting circular manufacturing initiatives
The new models are designed to integrate into existing UPS architectures without changes to cabinets, racks, cabling, or installation procedures, offering a practical path for customers seeking additional performance margin in more demanding environments.

“By expanding the DataSafe HX battery range, EnerSys is giving operators flexibility to choose the solution that best aligns with their runtime expectations, temperature profiles, and sustainability objectives,” said John Gagge.
The DataSafe HX530T and DataSafe HX600T batteries are available now in North America through authorized EnerSys distributors and partners.
