Littelfuse: Short Circuit Current Ratings
There are two common methods for performing insulation resistance testing on cables, wiring and electrical equipment. One uses a megohmmeter to measure insulation resistance. The other uses a hipot tester to check for insulation breakdown. Both apply a high voltage, either ac or dc, to the device under test (DUT) and measure the resulting current flow. A modern megohmmeter (or megohm meter) applies a dc voltage to a DUT and measures the dc current (nanoamps or microamps).
In the year of 2017, a report from the United States Fire Administration indicated that over 8,000 businesses experienced electrical fires. In total, the losses exceeded $430 million. While it is true that most businesses throughout the United States perform standard levels of upkeep in order to properly maintain their commercial property, it is also true that many neglect maintenance and servicing of their electrical systems until a problem develops.
More than crude oil is extracted from oilfields. Naturally occurring water—or “produced water”—is a byproduct that must be managed in an environmentally compliant way. A key partner in recycling produced water is Endpoint Industrial Controls. Headquartered in Loveland, Colorado, the company is part of the Rockwell Automation PartnerNetwork program and uses Rockwell technologies to create end customer solutions.
Littelfuse, Inc., an industrial technology manufacturing company empowering a sustainable, connected, and safer world, recently announced the 400PV Fuse series, a 2410 size, surface mount design (SMD) circuit protection component that offers low resistance for photovoltaic (PV) applications. The 400PV is specifically designed to address the latest trend in solar roofing by enabling PV shingles that integrate both the shingles with the PV cells while incorporating protection that meets the UL 248-19 standard for PV applications.
Simplified industrial enclosure cooling systems are rapidly rising up the ranks of priority for manufacturers as production environments continue to become more varied or diverse. While industrial filter fan cooling units can help manufacturers cut through the complexity of modern manufacturing via more streamlined, simplified design and operation, manufacturers still don’t fully realize the capacity of filter fan units to provide targeted cooling outputs that can keep pace with the speed and around-the-clock nature of today’s manufacturing landscape. However, Rittal’s new Blue e+ Filter Fan EC industrial cooling unit combines powerful, strategic cooling capabilities with the ability to both optimize productivity, reduce cooling costs, and decrease the chance of unplanned downtime.
In this blog article, you will learn why UPS systems are indispensable for ensuring a reliable and stable power supply in critical infrastructures, which components are needed for this, and which standards they must meet. In the past 100 years, electricity has always flowed in one direction – from the producer to the consumer. However, new technologies, innovative ways of energy procurement and generation, as well as comprehensive digitalisation, are fundamentally changing the market.

This webinar presented by Beth Lessard and Keith Cordero will be highlighting three Panduit solutions that will optimize network equipment and cabling to ensure that your spaces are efficiently and properly managed to support ever-evolving business needs of today and beyond. Products that will be featured include PanZone TrueEdge Wall Mount Enclsoure, Cable Managers, and Adjustable Depth 4-Post Rack.

The Siemens SIMOVAC medium-voltage non-arc-resistant and SIMOVAC-AR arc-resistant controllers have a modular design incorporating up to two 12SVC400 (400 A) controllers, housed in a freestanding sheet steel enclosure. Each controller is UL 347 class E2, equipped with three current-limiting fuses, a non-load-break isolating switch, and a fixed-mounted vacuum contactor (plug-in type optional for 12SVC400). The enclosure is designed for front access, allowing the equipment to be located with the rear of the equipment close to a non-combustible wall.
