Siemens USA announced the launch of its technologically advanced cyber test range housed at its U.S. R&D headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey. The COVID-19 pandemic and the related increase in cyberattacks has highlighted the need for facilities such as this to focus on prevention, detection, and response solutions. Recently, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the National Security Agency (NSA) put out an alert recommending immediate actions to mitigate attacks on operational technology (OT).
Pepperl+Fuchs now supports the Industrial Digital Twin Association (IDTA) in its role as one of the founding members. This new association was established by the German trade associations ZVEI, VDMA, and Bitkom, along with 20 companies from the machine building and electronics industries. The EJxxxx EtherCAT plug-in modules are electronically based on the well-known EtherCAT I/O system and their design allows them to be directly attached to a circuit board. The circuit board is an application-specific signal distribution board that distributes signals and power supply to individual application-specific plug connectors in order to connect the controller to further machine modules.
