Beckhoff: Webinar – Cloud Services as a Competitive Factor

October 19, 2020

Networked automation with cloud computing: The efficient use of cloud services is increasingly developing into a decisive competitive factor in the industrial environment.

The EK9160 IoT Bus Coupler establishes a direct connection between EtherCAT I/Os from Beckhoff and the Internet of Things (IoT) without any special control program. The coupler thus offers the simple and standardized integration of I/O data into cloud-based communication and data services.

In this 45-minute webinar, Hartmut Kauer, Product Manager I/O, presents an overview of IoT scenarios with the Beckhoff portfolio and explains the properties of the EK9160. The presentation also covers the configuration of the I/O signals as well as the cloud communication. The coupling to popular cloud systems such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS) is configured. Finally, the advantages of OPC-UA are dealt with, as the EK9160 also features an integrated OPC-UA server.

Following the webinar, the speaker will be available for questions.
