Littelfuse: Short Circuit Current Ratings
The adoption of smart manufacturing is spreading at a rapid pace. With the introduction and implementation of new technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the Industrial Internet of Things, technology is taking manufacturing to a place it’s never been before. With the increased connectivity comes increased cybersecurity risk. Threat actors are evolving and advancing their techniques for infiltrating OT networks, and according to the Rockwell Automation State of Smart Manufacturing report, 71% of all ransomware attacks on industrial organizations are focused on manufacturing.

Understanding the basics of designing, assembling, and testing control panels is important for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and systems integrators (SIs), and for the end users who will receive these panels and operate them for years or decades. Panel design is a specialty, and it requires much more than picking some parts and bolting them into an enclosure, but there are many products and resources to help get the job done.
Support challenges associated with aging and obsolete Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), combined with built-in cyber security and expanded functionality in modern RTU designs, are accelerating utility efforts to replace legacy hardware. The increasingly critical role of the substation RTU, notably in bulk and transmission substations, underscores the importance of ease of use, high performance, interoperability and scalability.
Water treatment plants are critical facilities that ensure clean and safe drinking water for the public. These complex plants require precise monitoring and control to ensure smooth operation. Implementing a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system in a water treatment plant can bring significant benefits, including increased efficiency, improved safety, and reduced costs. This article will discuss the benefits of using SCADA for water treatment plants.
