Purdue University has joined the Rittal + Eplan Partner Network through a five-year partnership centered on the university’s Polytechnic Institute.

As part of the Friedhelm Loh Group, sister companies Rittal and Eplan have a long tradition of engaging with science and education in Europe and are excited to extend this model to the United States. This partnership represents a long-term commitment to developing the next generation of engineers to enter the U.S. workforce.

Rittal and Eplan will support the university’s Electrical Engineering Technology program with Eplan software licenses and access to Rittal’s automation systems. These resources will be available in the new EPLAN Electrical Engineering Technology Projects Lab in Purdue’s Dudley Hall. Extending these resources to the university will provide a consistent framework for student engagement with established engineering and automation tools, the sister companies aim to give students experience with technology used throughout the engineering field worldwide. In addition, the Rittal + Eplan Partnership Network includes the opportunity for students to obtain scholarships, internships, and to collaborate on innovative research.

“Purdue Polytechnic has always sought to prepare new generations for tech-driven industries, and this partnership is the perfect embodiment of that mission,” said Daniel Castro, Dean of Purdue Polytechnic Institute. “By integrating world-class solutions from Rittal and Eplan into our curriculum, we are going beyond theory. Students will develop the hands-on skills and technological fluency needed to lead.”

Together, Purdue, Rittal, and Eplan are building practical learning environments that support students as they prepare for careers in electrical design, automation, and smart manufacturing.
