AutomationDirect: Gefran GRM-H Series Power Controllers

August 11, 2026
Gefran GRM-H series SCR power controllers convert analog signals (0–10 V, 4–20 mA), PWM duty-cycle outputs, potentiometer, and discrete ON/OFF commands from PLCs and PID controllers into precise SCR-based control of AC power for industrial heating applications.
These ultra-compact controllers are available in 10 A, 25 A, 50 A, and 75 A models rated for 480 VAC (60-530 VAC working range). They provide advanced current limiting and continuous load monitoring to improve heater protection and process stability. Specialized control functions, including soft-start ramping and closed-loop power regulation, reduce startup inrush currents and maintain consistent energy delivery despite line voltage fluctuations and load resistance changes caused by temperature or aging. Select models offer Modbus RTU (RS-485) communication for networked system integration and centralized control. All models include an integrated, correctly-sized heatsink, eliminating the need for separate heatsink selection or sourcing.
Control modes include burst firing with optimized cycle time, fixed cycle time, half-single-cycle, and phase angle firing, providing flexible performance across a wide range of heating applications.
Configuration is supported via the free NFC (Near Field Communication) smartphone app for no-power, no-PC programming directly on the factory floor. The free GF_eXpress PC software connects via USB-TTL cable (GRM-H-USB-CBL accessory) or RS-485 and supports parameter duplication and sharing.
The new Gefran GRM-H series power controllers start at $295.00 (GRM-H-10-48-AN-0-1).
