Bel Fuse: High-Density XRCM200 and XRCM300 Converters for Modern Rail Applications

Bel Fuse Inc. recently announced its XRCM 200 and 300 Series, the second-generation DC-DC converters with ultra-wide input range. Designed for demanding railway and transportation applications, the new converters combine a compact form factor, ultra-wide input voltage range, and high efficiency to help engineers simplify system design while meeting stringent railway reliability and safety requirements.
“Rail operators and system designers need power solutions that deliver reliability, and that’s at the heart of what we do at Bel,” said Silvan Mueller, Director of Business Development for Rail Power Products. “This new generation of the XRCM Series was designed to simplify deployment, combining broad input voltage support, a compact footprint, and protection features engineers need to build resilient transportation systems.”
The XRCM 200 dual output converter delivers 200 W at ± 15 V and provides a smaller, more cost-effective option with low power consumption. The XRCM 300 single output converter delivers 300 W at 24V, and offers an extended temperature range for continuous operation at 85°C ambient temperature. Both feature high power density, low inrush current, and comprehensive protection against overtemperature, overvoltage, overcurrent, and short circuits. Both are also designed to meet the latest safety standards, including EN 50155, EN 50121-3-2, and AREMA.
The converters will be featured at the Bel Fuse booth (Hall 17, Booth #310) during InnoTrans in Berlin on September 22-25, along with other power conversion solutions designed for modern rail and transportation systems. Supporting continuous input voltages from 16.8 VDC to 137.5 VDC, both converter families are compatible with all common railway battery systems, enabling OEMs to standardize on fewer power supply platforms across multiple vehicle architectures.
Together, the XRCM200 and XRCM300 provide engineers with versatile power conversion solutions that reduce integration effort, improve system reliability, and support the evolving demands of modern railway electronics.
