Southwire Emphasizes Sustainability Commitment With Declare Label Certification
Southwire recently obtained a Declare label for its 600 Volt and 1000 Volt SOLONONplus Type XHHW-2 VW-1 cables, making it the first company in the United States to offer a Declare label for a power cable used in the wiring of green building projects. “As Southwire continues its sustainability journey, we seek new opportunities to make our products more sustainable and support our customers in their sustainability efforts,” said Bo Quick, senior director of sustainability & environmental partnerships.
Molex’s Phillips Medisize Expands Its Inhalation Drug Delivery Capabilities
Molex, a parent to Phillips Medisize, recently announced that it has completed, through an affiliate, a previously announced acquisition of Vectura Group Ltd. (Vectura) from Vectura Fertin Pharma Inc., a subsidiary of Philip Morris International Inc. Phillips Medisize is a major provider in the design and manufacturing of innovative products for the pharmaceutical drug delivery, in vitro diagnostic and medtech markets. With the addition of Vectura, the company now offers a wider range of formulation, device design, combination product development and manufacturing services.

Siemens: SIMOVAC Non-Arc-Resistant and SIMOVAC-AR Arc-Resistant Motor Controllers
The Siemens SIMOVAC medium-voltage non-arc-resistant and SIMOVAC-AR arc-resistant controllers have a modular design incorporating up to two 12SVC400 (400 A) controllers, housed in a freestanding sheet steel enclosure. Each controller is UL 347 class E2, equipped with three current-limiting fuses, a non-load-break isolating switch, and a fixed-mounted vacuum contactor (plug-in type optional for 12SVC400). The enclosure is designed for front access, allowing the equipment to be located with the rear of the equipment close to a non-combustible wall.
