OKW: Wider Choice of Customizing Options for Electronic Enclosures and Tuning Knobs

Enclosures manufacturer OKW’s in-house customization services now include laser marking, CNC machining, lacquering, printing, decor foils, RFI/EMI shielding, special materials, and installation and assembly of accessories.
OKW manufactures standard and customized enclosures and tuning knobs for applications including medical and laboratory electronics, test and measurement, HVAC, climate control and environmental systems, control and automation, data collection, point-of-sale, building services, networking/communications, mining/gas/oil, access control and security.
Laser marking is ideal for individual labelling and small machine-readable QR codes, barcodes and DataMatrix codes.
Screen and tampo printing options now include fluorescent and photoluminescent inks for higher visibility in hazardous areas or diffuse lighting. Legends, logos and graphics can also be added with photo-quality digital printing.
OKW now also offers a wider choice of lacquers. Color and surface finishes include soft-touch and ESD conductive lacquers, metallic effects, and varying lustres from matt to gloss. Different shades are produced according to RAL or Pantone codes. OKW’s in-house mixing plant ensures consistent quality and short delivery times.
Machining services include milling, tapping, engraving, drilling, countersinking, cutting and stamping – quickly and reliably from samples to full production. OKW can reduce the internal thickness of enclosure walls, allowing LED light to shine through for displays without compromizing ingress protection ratings.
OKW’s vapor-plating facility provides RFI/EMI shielding, coating the inside of enclosures with 99.98% pure aluminum. The layer thickness is approximately 2.5 µm.
Special materials include V-0 plastics for greater flammability resistance, and custom colors according to a RAL/Pantone code or a sample.
OKW can also assemble and install accessories such as cable glands, belt/pocket clips, tilt foot bars, wall mounting elements, hinges and carry handles. The service also includes the application of keyboard foils, decor foils, type plates, display windows and mounting pillars, along with the mounting of assemblies and installation of components.
