Toshiba: RemotEye ESS2 Delivers Smarter Monitoring for SCiB Energy Storage Systems

July 7, 2026
Toshiba International Corporation (TIC) announces the release of Toshiba RemotEye ESS2, the newest evolution of its intelligent IIoT‑based monitoring and management platform for Toshiba SCiB Energy Storage Systems (ESS).
The RemotEye ESS2 provides advanced analytics, enhanced cybersecurity features compared to prior generation, and expanded connectivity to support modern data centers, industrial facilities, and enterprise IT environments.
Designed to meet the growing demands of distributed and mission‑critical operations, the RemotEye ESS2 delivers real‑time system insight, predictive maintenance capabilities, and seamless integration with facility management systems. Its upgraded architecture supports faster processing, broader network throughput and enhanced system intelligence, empowering operators to make informed decisions that improve uptime and reduce operational costs/risks.
The RemotEye ESS2 is designed using a hardened, Zero Trust Security Architecture with expanded encryption support, authentication, and enhanced event logging. Its intuitive web‑based interface provides comprehensive visibility into ESS performance, battery health, and environmental conditions. With expanded IIoT functionality, the platform provides remote diagnostics, automated alerts, and trend analysis to help identify issues before they impact operations.
Key enhancements include optimized data structures across industry standard protocols, including Modbus TCP/RTU, BACnet/IP, SNMP v1/v3, and MQTT, supporting integration across diverse building and energy management ecosystems. The system also offers improved data capture tools for system diagnostics capabilities designed to streamline service planning and reduce unplanned downtime.
“RemotEye ESS2 brings a new level of intelligence to ESS monitoring, giving data center operators the visibility, security, and actionable insights they need to protect critical power infrastructure and support reliable operations,” says Greg Mack, SVP & General Manager of Toshiba’s Power Electronics Division.
The new RemotEye ESS2 reinforces Toshiba’s commitment to delivering high-quality, durable solutions backed by comprehensive service and support. By combining SCiB Energy Storage System monitoring with integrated RemotEye UPS status visibility, RemotEye ESS2 helps customers improve system awareness, streamline oversight, and support overall operational reliability.
