Zuken: E3.series 2027 With Expanded Engineering and Manufacturing Capabilities

September 8, 2026

Very recently, Zuken announced E3.series 2027, the latest release of its electrical design software for wiring, wire harness, fluid, and control systems design. The release focuses on making engineering information more accessible and easier to carry into manufacturing and downstream processes.

Key additions include E3.CloudView for browser-based access to project documentation, workflow enhancements for common engineering tasks, complete 2D Manufacturing Views for cabinet documentation, and expanded capabilities for working with 3D panel and harness data.

Browser-Based Access to Engineering Information

One of the major highlights of E3.series 2027 is the introduction of E3.CloudView, a browser-based application that provides controlled access to project documentation without requiring a local software installation. Project access rights are managed by administrators and can be assigned according to organizational requirements.

Whether on the production floor, during commissioning, or while servicing equipment in the field, users can view electrical schematics in 2D, explore panel layouts in 3D, and navigate project data using the Jump function. This gives production, commissioning, and field service teams direct access to project information through a supported web browser, extending access to engineering information beyond the engineering department.

Workflow Updates for Everyday Engineering

E3.series 2027 introduces workflow enhancements for common engineering tasks. A new search capability within the settings dialog helps users locate configuration options, while updates to Variant and Option handling improve navigation and editing for configurable designs. Engineers can also place multiple symbols simultaneously and define their spacing, orientation, and visibility, avoiding the need to place each symbol individually.

Complete Cabinet Documentation in 2D

E3.series 2027 can generate 2D Manufacturing Views of an entire enclosure. Instead of creating projection views individually, engineers can generate multiple views with a single command, reducing the time needed to create a consolidated visual reference for manufacturing and assembly from minutes to seconds.

Expanded 3D Data Support

Mechanical panel data can be prepared for component placement and routing by identifying relevant enclosure geometry and converting it into usable electrical design objects. E3.3DPanelBridge supports this workflow by converting mechanical panel models into native E3.panel design objects and helping users identify elements such as plates, mounting rails, and cable ducts.

E3.3DTransformer 2027 adds capabilities for editing and maintaining complex 3D harness data, including additional topology-attribute editing, enhanced model-tree search, simultaneous updates to shared data across multiple objects, and updated support for CATIA, Creo, and JT formats.

“E3.series 2027 focuses on practical improvements to how teams access project information, complete common design tasks, and prepare documentation for manufacturing,” said Robert Baur, managing director at Zuken E3. “Electrical design data is used by more than just the engineers who create it, so we are continuing to make that information easier to access, work with, and carry into downstream processes.”
