Excelitas: Development Series Capacitor Charging Power Supplies

January 20, 2026
Excelitas introduces its Development Series Capacitor Charging Power Supplies, a new line of development-focused, high-voltage power platforms designed to support rapid prototyping, system evaluation and early-stage development of advanced laser and high-energy systems.
The Excelitas Development Series Capacitor Charging Power Supplies deliver flexible, platform-based high-voltage solutions that help laser system developers reduce integration complexity, mitigate technical risk and advance more efficiently through early design and evaluation cycles. Engineered specifically for development and evaluation environments, the Development Series enables close collaboration with Excelitas engineering teams and is well-suited for startups, universities and emerging laser manufacturers, as well as established OEMs evaluating next generation system architectures.
Available in three variants—2 kW (XLS202), 3 kW (XLS302), and 4 kW (TLX402)—the Development Series supports a wide range of voltage and power requirements across medical, industrial and research laser applications, while providing a common foundation for future system optimization. The platform is intentionally optimized for development and evaluation, allowing system developers to fine-tune load matching and system parameters to achieve optimal efficiency, thermal performance and system protection prior to transitioning to production-scale solutions.
Key features of the Excelitas Development Series Capacitor Charging Power Supplies include:
- Compact form factor with high power conversion efficiency
- Active power factor correction (PFC) with PF > 0.99
- Comprehensive system protection, including open circuit, short circuit, arc, over-temperature, and over-voltage protection
- Low conducted and radiated EMI with high EMI/RFI immunity
- Certified to EN 60601-1 (medical) or EN 61010-1 (industrial) safety standards
- RoHS and REACH compliant
“The Development Series provides laser system developers with a stable, flexible power foundation during the earliest phases of system design,” said Steve Klibansky, High Voltage Power Product Manager at Excelitas. “By basing these chargers on proven Excelitas platforms, customers can achieve predictable power performance, reduce integration risk and progress more efficiently from prototype to production.
Built to standardize development-stage power supplies around proven, high-volume Excelitas platforms, the Development Series provides a cost-effective and dependable foundation for innovation. It also offers broader access to Excelitas’ extensive high-voltage power technology portfolio.
