nVent Hoffman: Commercial Wireway Type 1 with New Snap Connect Design

The Lay-In Flat-Cover Type 1 wireway in both galvanized and painted finishes has been redesigned to feature a convenient “snap” fit connection, making installation quicker and easier. At this time, the feature enhancement is limited to the 4.00 x 4.00 inch and 6.00 x 6.00 inch solution sizes, present on all wireway Straight Section lengths as well as the joining U-Connectors.

The “snap” fit design brings the following:

  • Straight Section retention and self-alignment of U-Connector
  • Elimination of 4 internally fastened nuts per connection
  • Multi tool screw head(s) for flexible installation
  • Backwards compatibility with legacy design

This update is an example of nVent Hoffman’s commitment to product innovation and customer experience enhancement.

The Siemens SIMOVAC medium-voltage non-arc-resistant and SIMOVAC-AR arc-resistant controllers have a modular design incorporating up to two 12SVC400 (400 A) controllers, housed in a freestanding sheet steel enclosure. Each controller is UL 347 class E2, equipped with three current-limiting fuses, a non-load-break isolating switch, and a fixed-mounted vacuum contactor (plug-in type optional for 12SVC400). The enclosure is designed for front access, allowing the equipment to be located with the rear of the equipment close to a non-combustible wall.
